UC Irvine holds on to beat Texas-Arlington 77-70

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Adam Folker and Will Davis II scored 16 points apiece Saturday night, helping UC Irvine to its fourth straight win, 77-70 over BracketBusters foe Texas-Arlington in the first-ever meeting between the schools.

Folker was 7 of 8 from the field, and Davis was 7 of 13, for the Anteaters (16-13), who shot 52% from the floor against a Texas-Arlington team allowing the fourth-lowest opponent shooting percentage in Division I. Michael Wilder added 14 points and eight assists.

Jamel Outler had a career-high 21 points off the bench for the Mavericks (15-10), who had their 5-game winning streak snapped. Brandon Edwards recorded his third straight double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Jordan Reves had four blocked shots - giving him 59 and breaking Jermaine Griffin's single-season school record of 58 from 2006-07.

Irvine never trailed and led by as many as 14 before a late Texas-Arlington run.
