Even if you?re a fan of Star Wars videogames, you might be missing out on the secret best one ever. On today?s episode of Game|Life Weekly, we play through a bit of Star Wars on the Famicom, the Japanese 8-bit game console that was the equivalent of our Nintendo Entertainment System.
Created by Pac-Man house Namco, this Japan-only 1987 release had gorgeous packaging that belied the fact that what was on the cartridge was completely crazypants, even by the loose standards of the day. Join us as we discover plot holes, bizarre twists and a lightsaber that both should not be there and does not work. It?s why we unironically named it one of Wired?s favorite Star Wars games.
Wired?s Star Wars special issue hits shelves this week.
